Husker Volleyball

Having followed Husker Volleyball for quite a while, I've had the opportunity to see great teams, great players and great coaches. There have been a lot of great moments--I remember Thater craters and late nights watching Husker Olympians but nothing was comparable to the late night heroics of the 2008 squad and the heart that they showed in their semifinal win and their "near win" in Omaha against the dominating Penn State squad.

I found myself getting nervous, excited and biting my nails with each point. Watching the Nebraska squad play with so much "heart and soul" in a match that they eventually lost brought smiles and tears.

It will be a while before they can put together another group that is as special and loved as the squad that played their last game together at the NCAA Final Four 2008. Here's looking forward to next season and following this group as they move on and bring their special touch to other areas in life after volleyball.
